UP Rudras engage with fans at Lulu Mall, Lucknow ahead of Hockey India League Debut

Lucknow: UP Rudras, the hockey team representing Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming Hero Hockey India League, engaged with fans at the city’s shopping destination, Lulu Mall. The event featured star players Hardik Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, and Sharda Nand Tiwari, who shared their experiences and excitement as the team gears up for their debut season in the league, making its comeback after seven years. Lulu Mall, Lucknow team also felicitated the players.

Uttar Pradesh has a rich legacy in hockey, having produced legendary players like Major Dhyan Chand and KD Singh Babu, whose contributions continue to inspire athletes across the nation. Team captain Hardik Singh said, “The Hockey India League is set to begin soon, marking the start of a new era for Indian hockey. It is a matter of immense pride to don the UP jersey, given the state’s significant contribution to the sport. Known as the City of Nawabs, Lucknow beautifully represents our team’s name, ‘Rudras,’ symbolizing the 11 powerful deities.”

On this special occasion, Sameer Verma, General Manager of Lulu Mall, expressed, “Hockey is one of India’s most beloved sports, and we are honored to host the stars of the Hockey India League here today.
